How often did we hear our parents say or we tell our kids to be sure to eat your fruits and vegetables? If you’re like me, the answer would be repeatedly ♥️
The other question is did you listen 🤔
If not or maybe you did but you got off track when life got busy. If that’s the case, I am here to provide you with a friendly 🥰 reminder as to why it’s even more important now, as a woman in midlife, to be eating a whole spectrum of fruits and vegetables regularly!
See why below:
1. Hormone Balance: Fruits and vegetables are rich in phytonutrients and antioxidants that can help support hormone balance during peri-menopause and menopause. Certain fruits and vegetables, such as flaxseeds, broccoli, and berries, contain compounds that may help regulate estrogen levels.
2. Bone Health: Women in midlife are at a higher risk for osteoporosis, making it essential to consume calcium-rich fruits and vegetables like leafy greens, oranges, and figs. These foods can help support bone health and reduce the risk of fractures.
3. Heart Health: As estrogen levels decline during menopause, women become more susceptible to heart disease. Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables, particularly those high in fiber like apples, pears, and sweet potatoes, can help lower cholesterol levels and support heart health.
4. Weight Management: Metabolism tends to slow down in midlife, making weight management a common concern for women. Fruits and vegetables are low in calories and high in nutrients, making them an ideal choice for maintaining a healthy weight and supporting metabolism.
5. Skin Health: The antioxidants found in colorful fruits and vegetables can help protect the skin from oxidative stress and premature aging. Foods like tomatoes, carrots, and blueberries can promote skin health and a youthful appearance.
As you can see, getting those fruits and vegetables in your diet is so important, but if you are like me it might feel a bit overwhelming in an already busy life 😳 that’s why I love Arbonne’s superfood greens, one scoop gives me 36 fruits and vegetables per day 🤯 so any other vegetables and/or fruits I eat during the day is just icing on the cake!
If you found this information helpful and think someone in your life may as well please share ♥️
